In many cases, yes. The DIRECTV
installation may require structural modifications that may be limited or restricted by the terms of your lease, rental agreement, or covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&Rs). To avoid delays in your
installation, we ask that you obtain written or verbal permission from your landlord, homeowners' association, or property manager (or, alternatively, review your lease/rental agreement/HOA CC&Rs to confirm permission is not required) prior to scheduling your
installation. To help you in your request, please use our
Installation Permission form
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has a rule that generally forbids local governments and homeowners' associations from enforcing unreasonable restrictions regarding the installation of satellite dishes one meter or smaller. For more information, visit the FCC website.
Some apartment buildings are pre-wired for DIRECTV. Ask your property manager to find out if your building is pre-wired for DIRECTV and how to order new DIRECTV service for your apartment.
