What is DIRECTV On Demand?

With DIRECTV On Demand, you get the newest movie releases, many available nearly a month before Netflix and Redbox. All of the new releases boast 1080p HD resolution, the same format as Blu-ray™.

To browse, record, and order DIRECTV CINEMA™ titles, click here. You can also find them on your TV by tuning in to Channels 1000 and 1100.

To access all the titles on DIRECTV On Demand, you need:

  • A DIRECTV Plus HD DVR Receiver (HR20 or newer or an HD enabled R22)
  • Advanced Receiver DVR service.
  • Advanced Receiver Service-HD
  • Broadband Internet service with a minimum connection speed of 750 Kbps or higher. (We recommend a connection of 2.0 Mbps or faster for optimal performance. If you're not sure how fast your Internet connection is, please check with your Internet service provider.)
  • A network router with an available Ethernet port.
  • A connection between your HD DVR and Internet router.
