How do I order DIRECTV Pay Per View movies to watch on TV?

You can purchase Pay Per View movies (also known as DIRECTV CINEMA movies) to watch on your TV in a few different ways.

If your receiver is connected to the Internet or a land-based phone line, you can order right from your TV screen using your remote control.

To check if your receiver is connected to the Internet, press the DASH button on your remote. If you see “Internet: Not detected” click here to learn how to connect your HD DVR.

Step 1

Go to Channel 1100 and select the Pay Per View movie you want to watch.

Step 2

A preview will start playing. When you see an on-screen message asking you to confirm your purchase, select “Yes, Confirm.”

Note: If your movie doesn’t start playing immediately, switch to a different channel and then go back. If it still doesn’t work, try “refreshing” your service online.

You can also use your computer or tablet to order Pay Per View. These options do not require a receiver connected to the Internet or a land-based phone line.

Step 1

Go to directv.com on your computer or tablet and sign in. (If you don’t have an online account, it takes just seconds to create one.)

To quickly find the Pay Per View movie you want to order, just use the search field at the top of the site. Your movie will appear under Entertainment in the search results.

Place your mouse over the movie title you want to watch, then click Watch. Follow the prompts on the next screen to confirm your purchase.

If your receiver is connected to the Internet, press the LIST button on your remote to go to your Playlist. Select your movie to start watching.

If your receiver is not connected to the Internet, just tune in to the Pay Per View channel your movie’s on (Channels 125-199).

Note: If your movie doesn’t start playing immediately, switch to a different channel and then go back. If it still doesn’t work, try “refreshing” your service online.

Go to directv.com on your mobile web browser and tap the blue Menu icon at the top right corner

Select Watch DIRECTV, then select Movies. You can also use the search field at the top of the menu to find a specific title.

Select the movie you want to watch by tapping its poster. Then tap Watch. You'll be prompted to sign in to your online account, if you haven't already done so.

Step4

Scroll down to the "On TV" section, then tap Order.

Step5

Verify your payment information and tap Order again.

Step6

Go to your TV. If your receiver is connected to the Internet, press the LIST button on your remote to go to your Playlist. Select your movie or event to start watching.

If your receiver is not connected to the Internet, just tune in in to the Pay Per View channel your movie or event is on (Channels 125-199).

Note: If your movie doesn't start playing immediately, switch to a different channel then go back. If it still doesn't work, try "refreshing" your service online.

Text from your cell phone:
Simply use your phone to text MOVIE to 223322 and follow the prompts. To complete your purchase, you may receive up to 6 text messages sent by automated dialing equipment. Standard text message and data rates apply.


Order by phone:
To order movies using our automated phone system, just call 1-800-531-5000. When prompted, say “Order Pay Per View.”
