I got an error 62 or 22 message. What do I do?

Step 1:
  1. Check all physical connections making sure that the Ethernet cable is connected to the back of the DIRECTV receiver. It should be connected to the top Ethernet port. In general, make sure all wires and power cords are securely connected.
  2. Make sure the lights on the router and Ethernet adapters (if applicable) are blinking.
    1. If lights on the router are not blinking, unplug the router, wait 15 seconds, and then plug the router back in.
  3. If you are using wall mount Ethernet adapters, make sure they are not plugged into a powerstrip.
  4. Check if your computer successfully connects to the Internet.
  5. If everything is working, then go to Step 2
    1. If any issues are found during this step, contact your router manufacturer, Internet Service Provider or replace Ethernet adapters (if necessary)
Step 2:
  1. Unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of the receiver.
  2. Wait 15 seconds.
  3. Plug the Ethernet cable back into the receiver.
  4. Wait 1 minute.
  5. Follow these steps to perform network setup:
    1. Press MENU on your remote
    2. Select Parental, Fav's & Setup
    3. Select System Setup
    4. Select Network
    5. Select Connect Now
  6. If you receive a 'Congratulations' message, then the receiver is connected. Otherwise, go to Step 3.
Step 3:
  1. Follow these steps to perform Restore Network Defaults. This will reset your receiver's network settings (it will not affect your recordings)
    1. Press MENU
    2. Select Parental, Fav's & Setup
    3. Select System Setup
    4. Select Network
    5. Select Restore Network Defaults
  2. After receiver resets to network defaults:
    1. Select "Connect Now."
  3. If you receive a 'Congratulations' message, then the receiver is connected. Otherwise, go to Step 4.
Step 4:
  1. If the receiver is unable to connect, then the 'Connecting via the Internet' screen will appear.
  2. If you see the following information on the screen, then contact your Internet Service Provider or Best Buy Geek Squad at 800-GEEKSQUAD. When calling Geek Squad, please mention you are experiencing a "home networking issue".
    1. IP Address is 169.254.x.x
    2. Subnet Mask is
