A customer’s “local market” or DMA is based on local market boundary information provided by Nielsen Media Research. Nielsen determines the market boundaries based on surveys that evaluate which channels the majority of viewers in an individual county are watching. Your local stations are those that belong to the market in which you reside. Because broadcast signals can cross market boundaries, it is not unusual for individual locations to receive signals from stations that belong to neighboring market areas. A neighboring station would be a broadcast signal that is available off-air from a station that is not in your home market.
