How can I use the online guide to look for shows?

Print

The online guide lets you search for shows on all the channels up to 14 days in advance. But you don’t have to look through the entire listing of DIRECTV channels to find something to watch. You can customize your guide to speed up your search.

First, sign in to your directv.com online account if you're not already signed in. Select "The Guide" from the "Watch DIRECTV" menu. Now you can:

Create lists of favorite channels and entertainment.

  • To add a channel to your My Favorite Channels list, click the Heart icon next to the channel you like.
  • To add a movie or a show to your My Favorite Entertainment list, click on it to go to its details page. Then, click "Add to Favorites" below the title
  • Once you've created your Favorites lists, you can edit them by clicking "My Favorite Entertainment" or "My Favorite Channels" on the utility bar at the bottom of the page. To delete items from your list, mouse over a channel or program. Click “x” to remove.

Filter the guide by channels.

Roll over "CHANNELS" with your cursor. In the window that appears, you can set your Guide preferences. To see only those channels included in your TV package, select "My Channels." To see only those channels that you've assigned to your Favorites, select "Favorite Channels."

Sort the guide alphabetically or by channel number.

Roll over "SORT BY" with your cursor. Select "Channel Number" to sort the channels by channel number (default). Select "A-Z" to sort them alphabetically.

Highlight the type of entertainment you want to watch.

If you are interested in watching a movie, you can highlight all the movies in the guide to make them easier to see. The same goes for TV Shows, Sports, and Adult programs. Roll over "HIGHLIGHT" with your cursor to see your options.
