What do I need to use GenieGO™?


Please note: DIRECTV no longer sells GenieGO devices online or over the phone.

To use GenieGO™, you’ll need:

  • An active DIRECTV account and programming package.
  • A wireless broadband Internet network in your home.
  • An available Ethernet port on your wireless router.
  • An HD DVR (model HR20 or higher) or a Genie HD DVR (model HR34 or higher) connected to the Internet.
  • A computer or a mobile device with the GenieGO App. Download the free GenieGO app on up to 5 compatible devices.
  • Mobile DVR Service to activate your GenieGO. It will be automatically added to your account at no charge.
