What’s the difference between channels you can stream at home and those you can stream everywhere?

Print

All streamable channels are available to watch within your home Wi-Fi network. Some of these channels can be streamed anywhere, inside or outside your home Wi-Fi network.

To stream in your home, you need:

  • A DIRECTV online account username and password. If you haven’t already, you can create an account now.
  • An HD DVR connected to your home Internet network. Learn more
  • A computer, tablet, or phone joined to the same Wi-Fi network your HD DVR is connected to.

To stream outside your home, you need:

  • A DIRECTV online account username and password. If you haven’t already, you can create an account now.
  • A laptop, tablet, or phone joined to any Wi-Fi network.
PLEASE NOTE: To stream on your computer, smartphone, or tablet outside your home, you need to have an HD-capable receiver—an HD receiver or an HD DVR—on your account.
