Have the requirements for streaming Live TV changed?

Print
Starting November 21, 2013, you will be able to stream even more channels on your computer or mobile device—100 channels inside your home and over 30 channels outside your home!

We’re also making a few changes to the requirements for live TV streaming on your computer or mobile device. To stream live TV on your computer, smartphone, or tablet outside your home, you will now need an HD-capable receiver—an HD receiver or an HD DVR*—on your account. This change, however, does not affect streaming On Demand titles—you can still enjoy your favorite movies and shows on your computer or mobile device even if you have only SD receivers. If you’re considering upgrading to an HD-capable receiver, we strongly recommend ordering a Genie or HD DVR receiver. With one of these receivers connected to your home Internet network, you can stream many more live TV channels inside your home, on any computer or mobile device. Plus, you will get access to thousands of On Demand titles on your TV, computer, or mobile device. Upgrade your receiver

*Please note: Advanced Receiver Service is required for HD and HD DVR receivers ($10/month for HD receivers; $25/month for HD DVR and Genie receivers).
