If you’re seeing “Service Not Active” on your TV screen, it could be because of one of the following reasons:
- You don’t have active DIRECTV service
- You have DIRECTV without the applicable Advanced Receiver Services
Before you begin troubleshooting, make sure you have access to your receiver.
If you’re still seeing the error message after resetting your receiver, you may be missing Advanced Receiver Services on your account. This can happen if you’re using your HD or HD DVR receiver (Model H20 or HR20) to view off-air HD channels, but all your other channels are in Standard Definition. To fix this, please add the following services to your account:
- If you have a standard HD receiver (not an HD DVR), you need Advanced Receiver Service-HD
- If you have an HD DVR, you need Advanced Receiver Service (ARS)
