DIRECTV Error Codes 777, 780, 781

If you’re seeing “To order this program now, go to DIRECTV.com/PPV or call 1-800-531-5000.” on your TV screen, there's nothing wrong with your DIRECTV receiver or service. The issue is most likely caused by one of these scenarios:

  • Your receiver is not connected to the Internet or a land-based phone line
  • There’s a problem with your router or home Internet network

Before you begin troubleshooting, let’s check if your receiver is connected to the Internet. Go to your receiver and press the DASH button on your remote control. If you see “Internet: Connected” on your TV screen, select the first link below. If you see "Internet: Not detected," select the second link.

Step 1

Check your home Internet connection and router. Do you get Internet on your computer? If the answer is “No,” we suggest troubleshooting your router or contacting your Internet provider. If “Yes,” move on to Step 2.

Step 2

“Refresh” your receiver online. Please visit the My Equipment page and then select the “Refresh Receiver” link next to the receiver you’re having trouble with.

Step 3

Press the LIST button on your remote control. Does the program you want to watch have a green Play icon or a green progress bar next to it? If so, please wait until your program downloads completely. If you don’t see your program, please call us at 1-800-531-5000.
