What is the difference between a TiVo DVR and a DIRECTV DVR?

Print

Both TiVO DVR and DIRECTV DVR allow you to record, pause, and rewind LIVE TV. While the TiVO DVR comes with all the exclusive TiVO search features, like Swivel™ Search and WishLists®, the DIRECTV DVR is more powerful and has many features you won't find on a TiVo receiver, such as:

  • Faster speed and more recording capacity (depending on generation of TiVo you previously had. Example: RCA DVR40= 40GB hard drive or 40 hours of recording space.)
  • Easier Recording: To record a show just press the record button once and press it twice to record an entire season of your favorite shows.
  • Bookmarks: So you can highlight your favorite spots in a program and reach them again quickly.
  • DIRECTV Active: Featuring local weather forecast, horoscopes, and more.

Please note: TiVOHD DVR is NOT compatible with the DIRECTV Whole-Home service.
