I see a message on my TV screen that says, “Channel Not Available.” What should I do?

This error might be caused by one of the following situations:

  • Channel is used for an event, which either has not started or is already over
  • Channel is not included in your programming package
Solution 1: Refresh your service

Image  Many issues, such as missing channels, can be fixed by “refreshing” your receiver. Please visit the My Equipment page and then select the “Refresh Receiver” link next to the receiver you’re having trouble with.

Solution 2: Check when the program airs

Image  Check the programming schedule. The event you want to watch might have already ended or has yet to begin.

Image  The event might be blacked out in your area. Learn more about sports blackouts.

Solution 3: Check your channel lineup

Image  On the My Overview page, click Print Channel Lineup.
Image  If the channel you’re trying to watch is not included in your programming package, you can easily upgrade your package online by clicking Change Package.

Solution 4: Reset your receiver

Image  Unplug your receiver’s power cord from the electrical outlet, wait for 15 seconds, and plug it back in.
Image  Press the Power button on the front panel of your receiver. Wait for your receiver to reboot.
Image  Go to My Equipment to refresh your receiver again.
