How to connect your HD DVR to your home Wi-Fi network with the Wireless DIRECTV CINEMA™ Connection Kit if your Network status is “Connected” (Whole-Home DVR setup).

Please note: After you have completed this connection, all of the HD DVR and HD receivers in your Whole-Home network will be connected to the Internet.

Proceed with the steps below or watch this video demo.

STEP 1

Plug one end of the power adapter into the Cinema Connection Kit (Wireless) device and the other into a surge protector (recommended) or an electrical outlet.

STEP 2

If you have a DECA (see picture) connected to your HD DVR, leave it connected, but disconnect the other coaxial cable from the DECA.

If you do not have a DECA, disconnect the coaxial cable from the “SATELLITE IN 1” (or “SAT IN 1”) port on the back of your HD DVR.

STEP 3

Connect the coaxial cable that you just disconnected from your DECA or HD DVR to the coaxial port labeled “Towards LNB” on the Cinema Connection Kit (Wireless) device.

STEP 4

Unscrew the cap from the coaxial connector labeled “SAT Rcvr” on the Cinema Connection Kit (Wireless) device.

STEP 5

Now connect one end of the coaxial cable included with your kit to the coaxial port labeled “SAT Rcvr” on the Cinema Connection Kit (Wireless) device and the other end into the free coaxial port on the DECA or the “SATELLITE IN 1” (or “SAT IN 1”) port on your receiver.

STEP 6

The POWER, Activity, and Coax Network LEDs on the Cinema Connection Kit (Wireless) device will light up. Wait for the POWER LED to stop flashing.
