Follow these tips to troubleshoot your DIRECTV Universal remote.
Note: The Universal Remote works with both non-Genie and Genie receivers. The Genie Remote only works with Genie receivers.
Press and hold the number “1” on your keypad. Make sure you see a solid green LED at the top of the remote.
If you do not see a green light, change the batteries in your remote. Here’s how:
Press and hold the red reset button, located on the front or the right side of your receiver.
If you don’t see a red reset button, unplug the receiver’s power cord from the outlet and wait 15 seconds to plug it back in.
