On-screen error message: Wired Connection Lost

If you’re seeing a Video Connection Lost error message on your TV screen, it means the Genie Mini cannot connect to your home Genie network. Before you begin troubleshooting, please make sure you have access to your Genie HD DVR and Genie Mini.

Solution 1: Check the Genie Mini connections


Your cables may be loose. Check all the connections between your Genie Mini and the wall outlet and make sure they’re secure.


Ensure there are no unnecessary adapters, such as DECA, band stop filters, and b-band converters, connected to your Genie Mini.

Try Solution 2.


Solution 2: Reset your Genie Mini and Genie HD DVR


Reset your Genie Mini by pressing the red reset button on the side. If you’re still seeing the “Wired Connection Lost” message, continue to Step 2.


Go to your Genie HD DVR and reset it by pressing the red button located inside the access card door on the right side of the front panel.


Go back to your Genie Mini. If you’re still seeing the “Wired Connection Lost” message, please call us at 1-800-531-5000.

Be sure to have your DIRECTV account number handy when you call. Your nine-digit account number appears at the top of your bill as well as your directv.com account. After signing in, you’ll find your account number on the “My Overview” page next to your name.
