Error 792 indicates that your receiver is searching for an Over-The-Air or Off-Air Tuner signal. This is not an issue with the DIRECTV signal, but an issue with locating a signal from a separate antenna that may be in use.
This may be caused by a severe storm. If you are experiencing heavy rain, hail, or snow, please wait for it to pass. If there are no severe weather conditions in your area, proceed to the steps below.
Local Channel Connector
Are you using an Over-The-Air Local Channel Connector?
AM21 or other Off-Air Antenna
Are you using an Off-Air Antenna with an H20, HR20 or HR10-250 receiver?
Is an External Off-Air Tuner (AM21) attached to your receiver?
Are DIRECTV satellite local channels available in your area?
